Komodo boat trip with kids: cabins, child fares and what children do

Children under 3 travel free with a parent or guardian; from age 3 the full price applies. Each cabin sleeps 1 to 2 guests, so a family of four takes two cabins on NK Jaya 1. NK Jaya 2 has a Master Ocean for 2 to 3. The treks suit children who already hike.
How many cabins does a family need
Every cabin on both boats has one queen bed for 1 to 2 guests. A family of three fits one cabin when the child is small enough to share the bed with a parent. A family of four takes two cabins.
NK Jaya 1 has 7 cabins of that type and no extra bed on the price list. NK Jaya 2 adds the Master Ocean, which sleeps 2 to 3 with an extra bed, at IDR 6,050,000 (≈ USD 371) per person and IDR 3,850,000 (≈ USD 236) for the third. Tell us the ages and we hold cabins next to each other where they're free.
Children and the fare
The child policy is KEXI's, the same on every boat. Children under 3 travel free with a parent or guardian; from age 3 the full price applies.
Park tickets are per person. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000 a day. An Indonesian citizen pays IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends and holidays.
Both boats carry life jackets. Put your children's ages in the first message, and we confirm cabins, fares and life-jacket sizes together.
What children do on the route
The Padar climb takes 25 to 45 minutes on a loose, steep path and is graded moderate. The Komodo trek is ranger-led, graded easy on the short trails, and takes 45 to 120 minutes. Kelor is a short steep hill of 15 to 30 minutes.
Pink Beach is the easy swim, with reef close to the shore. Manta Point is a drift with a current, and we'd keep young children on the tender there.
Kit check: shoes with grip for every size, a sun hat, a rash guard, a small snack bag, motion tablets tried at home.
Sailing is long. Plan games for the hours between stops. The sundeck has lazy chairs and bean bags on both boats, and a child will find the jacuzzi before you do.
The whole boat for a family
A family or two can book the whole boat. The price covers 1 to 10 guests (1 to 20 on a full day), with each extra guest adding a fee up to the overnight limit of 14 on NK Jaya 1 and 12 to 13 on NK Jaya 2. The table shows the cost per head at your group size.
A guide and photo or video coverage are quoted separately. If the boat can't sail, you get a boat of equal or higher class on the same dates, or a refund within 14 days. Two or three families who know each other can split the cabins and the cost, with one organizer holding the booking.

How many cabins does a family of four need on NK Jaya?
Two. Each cabin has one queen bed for 1 to 2 guests on both boats. On NK Jaya 2 you could also take the Master Ocean for 3, plus one more cabin. NK Jaya 1 has no extra bed on the price list.
Are child life jackets on board?

Is the Padar climb suitable for children?
