Komodo day tour: Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island in one day
Updated 20 October 2026
The one-day tour on NK Jaya 1 or NK Jaya 2 picks you up at your hotel at 05.00. It runs Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island, with breakfast, lunch and a snack along the way. The boat is back in Labuan Bajo around 18.00 to 19.00. It's sold as a private charter.
A day that starts at 05:00
Your pickup is at the hotel at 05.00. That's the start time for the one-day tour on both NK Jaya 1 and NK Jaya 2. You'll forgive the hour by breakfast.
A welcome drink comes first. The boat starts sailing at 05.30 and breakfast is served on board. Then the stops begin.
Door to door, the day runs from 05.00 to a hotel drop-off around 19.00. That's about 14 hours with three stops in the middle. Plan your energy like a long hike, not a quick swim.
One thing to say plainly. This is a private-charter day for the whole boat. The open trip is a different product, 3 days and 2 nights with cabins sold per person, so look at that page if you're after a single seat.
Three stops, in order
Stop 1 is a trek on Padar Island, followed by lunch. Stop 2 is snorkeling and free time at Pink Beach, with a snack. Stop 3 is the trek at Komodo Island. Then the boat heads home.
- Padar, first stop. Three bays from the ridge, no dragons up there.
- Pink Beach, second stop. Pale sand, reef close to shore, tide matters.
- Komodo Island, third stop. Ranger-led trail, dragons likely and never promised.
Like every route, this one can change with the weather. We repeat it because the sea decides. If wind or swell closes a landing, the captain picks the next best stop that day.
Wear closed shoes for both treks. The Padar path is loose and steep in places, and the Komodo trails give little shade.

The sum for one day, and the lines it skips
The whole boat has one price for the day. NK Jaya 1 is IDR 39,000,000 (≈ USD 2,393) for the day. NK Jaya 2 is IDR 37,000,000 (≈ USD 2,270).
The base price covers up to 20 guests. Each guest beyond 20 costs IDR 1,000,000 (≈ USD 61) on either boat, up to a maximum of 25. The table below gives the sum per head at your group size.
The charter fare covers the boat with air conditioning, a chef and crew, meals, mineral water, snack, coffee and tea, the sundeck with lazy chairs, a tender, snorkeling equipment and life jackets. Pickup and drop-off at the harbor are on it too.
Park tickets are not in the fare. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000 a day. An Indonesian citizen pays IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends and holidays. Tickets are bought online in each visitor's name.
A guide and photo or video coverage aren't included on a private charter. We quote them separately when you ask. Flights, hotel, insurance, tips and personal spending stay outside the fare as well.

Kit check for a 14-hour day
Pack light and pack for sun. The official bring list is short and sensible, and we add two items from our own sandy pockets.
- Trekking shoes or sandals with a grip, because both landings involve walking.
- A small backpack for water, sunblock and your phone.
- Sunglasses and a hat.
- Emergency cash and your personal medicines.
- Reef-safe sunscreen, which keeps the Pink Beach reef in better shape.
- A rash guard if you burn easily. The sundeck is shaded in places, but the reef has no roof.
Leave the big camera bag at the hotel unless you shoot for a living. A phone in a waterproof pouch covers Pink Beach.
Eat breakfast when it arrives. The first stop follows soon after, and the trek at Padar is not the place to discover you skipped it.
FAQ
Does the one-day tour reach Padar, Pink Beach and Komodo Island?
Yes. The one-day itinerary on both boats has three stops: a trek at Padar Island, snorkeling and free time at Pink Beach, and a trek at Komodo Island. Breakfast, lunch and a snack are included. Like every route, it can change with the weather.
What time does the one-day tour end?
The boat is due back in Labuan Bajo around 18.00 to 19.00. Guests reach the hotel or the airport around 19.00. The day started at 05.00, so it's about 14 hours. Book dinner for later and any flight for the next day.
Can I book the one-day tour for just two people?
The one-day price covers the whole boat for up to 20 guests, so two people pay the boat price, not a per-seat fare. Each guest above 20 adds IDR 1,000,000 (≈ USD 61), up to 25. If you want a cheaper way to see the same islands, ask about an open-trip cabin instead.
Is the day tour a swim-heavy day?
No. The day has one snorkel stop, at Pink Beach, with free time. The other two stops are treks at Padar and Komodo Island. If snorkeling is your main aim, the overnight itineraries add Manjarite, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Siaba.
Do you pick me up from the hotel for the day tour?
Yes. Pickup is at your hotel at 05.00. KEXI pickup is free from any hotel or the airport. Send us the hotel name when you ask for dates, and we confirm the pickup in writing. That start is early, so pack the night before and set two alarms.
